01 Research Summary

1. Functional analysis of Large Maf transcription factors in vivo.

Large Maf transcription factors are expressed in pancreatic endocrine cells, macrophage lineage in hematopoietic system and podocyte in the kidney and also related to some human diseases. We are trying to elucidate functions of Large Maf transcription factors in the body by using genetically modified mice.

2. Analysis about in vivo functions of sugar chains on biological macromolecules.

Biological macromolecules in the body are modified by various kinds of sugar chains, but functions of these sugar chains are not fully understood. We are analyzing functions of sugar chains on biological macromolecules in vivo by using glycosiltransferase deficient mice.

3. Generation of genetically modified mice by genome editing.

Generation of genetically modified mouse related to sleep research by genome editing.
