Dr. Insung Park received “The Best Presentation Prize” at KSSM
Dr. Park, a researcher of WPI-IIIS (Tokuyama Lab), has received “The Best Presentation Prize” at the 18th Korea Society of Sleep Medicine (KSSM) Annual Conference, held in Soul from November 25th to 26th, 2023.
Dr. Park’s presentation title was “Exercise improves the quality of Slow-wave sleep by increasing slow-wave stability”.
This study found that an exercise can reduce the duration and cycle of sleep while enhancing and stabilizing deep sleep, particularly in the initial half of the sleep period, offering potential for efficiently sleep requirements. It was highly evaluated for its novel brainwave analysis technology, which collaborate with Greene/Vogt laboratory, confirming the stabilization of deep sleep, specifically slow-wave sleep, and has developmental potential, applicable not only to exercise but also to individuals with various sleep problems.
A total of 69 researchers gave oral presentations on the latest sleep research results at the 18th KSSM Annual Conference. Four researchers, including Dr. Park, have received “The Best Presentation Prize”.
