An interview article featuring Dr. Iwasaki Kanako, an alumna of International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine, University of Tsukuba (WPI-IIIS), has been published in “WPI Forum”
At the International Institute for Integrative Sleep Medicine (WPI-IIIS), University of Tsukuba, researchers are working to illuminate one of the biggest mysteries in neuroscience today: sleep. IWASAKI Kanako trained there from her undergraduate years through her doctoral degree and later remained on as a postdoctoral researcher.
“I used to think that top researchers belonged to a completely different world from my own,” she recalls. Today, she is based at Stanford University, where she engages in discussions on equal footing with leading scientists in the field.
Iwasaki spoke to us about how her years at WPI-IIIS shaped her identity as a scientist.
