Transformative Research Areas (A) Hibernation Biology 2.0 has launched

As artificial hibernation technology is attracting more and more attention, Dr. Takeshi Sakurai, vice director of WPI-IIIS, who has contributed greatly to the realization of artificial hibernation, joins a new project “Hibernation Biology 2.0: Understanding regulated hypometabolism and its function” as a principal investigator.
It is a large-scale project over five years and involves a total of seven departments, including the University of Tsukuba, the University of Tokyo, Nagoya University, and RIKEN. Pro. Yoshifumi Yamaguchi of the Institute of Low Temperature Science (ILTS), Hokkaido University, serves as the regional representative.
For project starting, a Kick-off Symposium & Explanatory Meeting for Call for Research Proposals will be held as follow. Don’t miss it!
