Dr. Shun Nakajima received the “Middle Career Distinguished Researcher Award” from the Journal of Behavioral Sleep Medicine on September 13, 2024. This award recognizes his outstanding contributions to the field of behavioral sleep medicine and educational initiatives, based on research published in the Journal of Behavioral Sleep Medicine in 2023.
Dr. Nakajima’s research is notable for establishing a scientific method to measure preschool children’s sleep and related parenting behaviors, addressing a gap where previous assessments of preschool children’s sleep problems were primarily limited to measuring sleep hygiene. In response to the award, Dr. Nakajima expressed his gratitude:
“I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award from the Journal of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. This achievement is the result of the dedicated efforts of my collaborators and the invaluable support of those who participated in our research. I will continue to strive to improve the quality of life for individuals struggling with sleep issues through ongoing research.”
